I’m counting down the 100 best dishes I tasted in 2019…
The Cafe Disco was actually not the cocktail I ordered at Mister Paradise. It was one I spoke with the bartender about but I went a different way. Amazingly, before I finished my first cocktail, he poured me a taste of the one I missed. And, man, did I miss it. Those few little sips were some of my favorite of the year. It’s a coffee and rye drink, but is infused with buckwheat and the drink has a toasty earthy note. It’s rounded out with olive oil and an herbal hit of pastis. Truly amazing. If I didn’t have a dinner to get to, I would have sat and had three. Price: $15
