Usually when I order paneer at Indian restaurants, it’s cubed and drowning in a rich sauce or puree of vegetables. The special presentation at the fancy Baar Baar was quite unique for me and very playful. Paneer cheese is wrapped up into delicate little pinwheels that float in a red pepper curry with complex flavors of fenugreek, ginger, and turmeric. I felt bad unrolling the works of art but couldn’t resist popping them in my mouth. Price: $24
