100 BEST ’18: ROASTED SWEET CORN BUTTER SOY SAUCE RAMEN at NOODLE BAR AT BRUSHSTROKE

I’m counting down the 100 best dishes I tasted in 2018…

SADLY, NOODLE BAR AT BRUSHSTROKE IS NOW CLOSED.

This amazing cold ramen was going to be a Dish of the Week, but sadly the hidden restaurant closed shortly after I visited it. It was by far one of the best things I tasted this year and so I want to remember it here. The cold creamy soup had a natural sweetness from fresh corn but was tamed by smoky earthy dashi and soy sauce.  The noodles were expertly springy and I loved the textures and unique flavor of the Korean chili threads. I would tell you to try it immediately but unfortunately it is currently just a memory. Price: $15
