100 BEST ’18: COMBINATION PLATTER at GURRA CAFÉ

I’m counting down the 100 best dishes I tasted in 2018…

This year I have been writing a lot about the wonderful vegetarian and vegan creations I have discovered. I’m all for eating less meat, but once in a while the craving strikes and a place like Gurra Café is the antidote. Nestled in the middle of the Bronx’s Little Italy, this is one of many Albanian restaurants in the neighborhood. And the perfect place to taste meaty specialities like  the dry spicy sujuk sausage, a flavorful beef patty called qofte, and the famous qebapa minced meat kebabs. Price: $11
