100 BEST ’18: MIX FRUITSAND at THE FRUITSAND

Sadly when I visited this interesting little spot in the outdoor Bowery Market, I had a feeling The Fruitsand’s days were numbered. The location is difficult and for some reason these cute little Japanese sandwiches never took off on Instagram as a space like this requires nowadays. So I’m writing about these too late (since they have since closed) but I really loved the fresh chunks of fruit sandwiched around chocolate cream and two slices of sweet milky bread. I just wish everyone else did too. Price: $9
