New York is so big and there are so many old school iconic restaurants that most New Yorkers never get to experience. Take Lenny’s Clam Bar for instance out in Howard Beach which has been slinging Italian seafood since the 1970’s for the residential community of this part of Queens. Before a flight at JFK, I was lucky enough to try these excellent little nubs of spiced and broiled scallops which had a buttery texture that was enhanced by the lemon butter wine sauce. Classic. Price: $24.95
