Food Adventuring Around NYC
My search for the best cheesecake in New York begins…. It’s highly unlikely that the first place I choose for my cheesecake journey will be the best. Either all the cheesecakes will be absolutely amazing, or I may have just set the bar a little too high. Of course, there are many New York iconic …
Each Friday, I get a lesson in the NYC brewery scene in these funny and informative videos promoting Urban Oyster’s NYC Brewery Tour I recently heard about the rustic bar/restaurant Dirck the Norseman on the border of Williamsburg and Greenpoint. Like most people, I assumed cheesecake was either invented in New York or brought here in the 1800’s by one of the groups of European immigrants. It could have been the Jews, Italians, or even the Hungarians. All seem to currently have a version of cheesecake in modern day NYC. But the real story about …

But the truth is, they’re very easy to mess up with rum or bourbon overpowering the sweetness. But when balanced just right, sweet and boozy is …
My search for the best beer in New York continues…. American craft beer drinkers go crazy for IPA’s. The old British-style is much more aggressive and bitter than anything the mass-produced guys have been brewing for decades in this country. So it makes perfect sense that Other Half Brewing has been focusing on different versions …
Every week, I document another dish that impressed and satiated me during my food adventures around New York City There was a time not that long ago where I was dedicated to conquering Time Out New York’s 100 Best Dishes list every single year. My search for the best pizza in New York continues…. Certé looks like any other generic lunch deli in Midtown. Glass counters of salads, an array of cookies, and coolers full of soda and orange juice. If I didn’t know there was some serious focus on food quality and chef-driven dishes in this unlikeliest of …
Each Friday, I get a lesson in the NYC brewery scene in these funny and informative videos promoting Urban Oyster’s NYC Brewery Tour For years, I’ve been leading the Urban Oyster Brownstone Brooklyn tour in Carroll Gardens.
