I recently heard about the rustic bar/restaurant Dirck the Norseman on the border of Williamsburg and Greenpoint. It has a historic theme (named for this area’s first European settler) and serves elevated bar food like pig knuckle and short rib.
As I was about to dig into a monstrous chicken schnitzel, Meredith sneaks up on me and tries to convince me that this exciting restaurant also moonlights as a brewery called Greenpoint Beer and Ale Co. where they make interesting and historic beer styles to pair with the hearty food.
