The Place: It was pretty clear that El Camarón Peludo was gonna be one of those places that I needed to write about more than once.
As mentioned last week, this is a brand new Mexican seafood wine bar in the West Village. The vibe is right and the inventive uses of fresh seafood is exciting.

The Dish: In addition to the incredible Taco Gobernador stuffed with rich sweet plump shrimp, I also ordered a refreshing but deeply flavorful Tostada de Atún.
The crisp tostada looked like a piece of art and tasted better than any painting I’ve encountered. Bluefin tuna, meaty and fresh, lay among some creamy avocado and spicy smoky chipotle mayo. Textures were added from salty tobiko and crunchy fried leek slivers. This was a smartly composed dish that on paper sounded a bit boring. It was anything but and contributed to one of the most exciting meals I’ve had this year. Price: $16
