Outside of beer, I don’t spend too much time writing about drinks on this blog. But I love a good cocktail and oftentimes a local bar creates a libation that is so complexly flavored and constructed that I have to take note. And beyond that, the local distilling scene is growing very quickly with businesses making everything from small batch gin to rum to hibiscus liqueur.
So naturally Village Voice has added a new tasting event to showcase those purveyors. Similarly to their successful Choice Eats and Brooklyn Pour events, Holiday Spirits will feature local businesses pouring cocktails and tastes of their wares. The event will take place on Thursday, December 5 from 7:30-10:30 at Studio Square in Astoria. Tickets, along with more information, can be obtained at the website here. This is a perfect way to start off the holiday season with some warming potables.
