Every March, Village Voice presents a huge food event called Choice Eats. It’s definitely one of my favorite evenings of eating each year, as restaurants from all over the city congregate under one roof.
This year, the feasting will occur on Friday, March 13 at Metropolitan Plaza. The line-up has not been fully announced yet, but we do know there will be some exciting hot new restaurants right alongside some old-time favorites. I’m specifically looking forward to trying 2 Duck Goose, a new Cantonese spot in Gowanus; the Cadanian-Cajun cuisine from King Bee; and the most popular Thai restaurant in the Rockaways (an area I don’t get to very often) called Thai Rock.
Tickets are now on sale (you can purchase them here) and they usually sell out, which is why I’m telling everybody about this now. I do recommend splurging on the $85 tickets for early entry, which ensures you get samples an hour before the crowd arrives. But for $65, you still get general admission and access to all the food samples.
