I have been a professional eater long before Tik Tok was a twinkle in the any millennials’ eye.
While studying acting at Carnegie Mellon University and working as an actor in regional theaters across the country, I discovered my voracious appetite – especially for unique, international and local food.
I started Eat This NY in 2010 to find the most authentic, iconic foods in New York City. Since I could tell you, from my travels, where to get the best lobster rolls in Maine, the best BBQ in Texas, the best Cuban food in Miami, I wanted to also know where the best bagels were in my own city.
Now all these years later, I know the food scene in New York better than I know myself. You can follow my continuing search for the most iconic foods in New York (pizza, bagels, Jewish delis, falafel, cheesecake, hot dogs, Chinese dumplings, local craft beer, pickles, ice cream, black and white cookies). The list never ends. But I’ve also expanded my knowledge of the food scene and present a weekly Dish of the Week in NYC (and sometimes beyond).
In addition to hundreds of blog posts (both on this site) and at places like Gothamist and the former Midtown Lunch, I continue to work as a New York City food tour guide for close to two decades. It’s the greatest job in the world – meeting people from all over and introducing them to the most delicious parts of this top-notch city. I’d love for your to join me on one of my food tours or create your own.
