DUMPLINGS in New York: Oh! Dumplings

I’ve walked by Oh! Dumplings countless times in Cobble Hill but only recently had the chance to stop in. It’s not much more than a take-out operation and the Chinese menu goes well beyond dumplings. But since I am on a constant search for the city’s best, I stuck with the most typical.

I chose the steamed mini dumplings which didn’t really live up to the size name. No issue with that, but I found that the meatball filling of pork and chives tasted rather industrial despite the claim to be homemade. The chili garlic sauce which topped them and also puddled underneath made up for the disappointment with a decent amount of spice and flavor.

Does Oh! Dumplings have the best dumplings in NY? They get a 6.5 out of 10for having decent wrappers and really tasty chili sauce. The pork filling could use a little more love and attention.
