100 BEST ’19: SEAFOOD “CORN DOG” at INSA

I’m counting down the 100 best dishes I tasted in 2019…

Corn dogs are tough to find in the city – they are definitely an American food but mostly found at street fairs. But a playful take on a corn dog exists in a very unlikely place: a Korean restaurant in Brooklyn. The Seafood “Corn Dog” at Insa is not at all what I would have expected. Stuck on two carnival-like sticks and topped with mayo and ketchup, the hearty seafood sausage was deep fried (minus breading), tender, and tasty. Price: $16
