LOCALS KNOW: THE FACES OF AMSTERDAM in AMSTERDAM, THE NETHERLANDS

This is the final Locals Know episode (for now) of the whirlwind European tour I did a few summers ago. My last stop is an exciting city that many people visit for all the wrong reasons. Amsterdam is known for many things, but most visitors never get to see the diverse local side of the city.

Part of Urban AdventuresIn Focus program that partners with local NGO’s or social enterprises, The Faces of Amsterdam is an important tour in today’s political climate. Amsterdam is one of the most diverse and welcoming cities in the world and with my guide Agnes from Amsterdam Urban Adventures, I got to meet some of the refugees and immigrants that have chosen to make Holland their home. It was a meaningful and appropriate way to end my adventure.
