Gloria is one of my favorite restaurant discoveries of the year. It’s like a more affordable hip Le Bernardin, which is also true because the chef once cut his teeth at Eric Ripert’s seafood den. This rich play on a crab cake with sweet Jonah crab and a creamy sabayon is the sort of dish you’d find at other high end restaurants, yet here it is available at a casual but classy neighborhood joint and at a much lower price.
