LOCALS KNOW: CICCHETTI & WINE TOUR in VENICE

Come back every Wednesday for another funny, informative video documenting my inept food adventures. In Locals Know, I explore a new city through the tours of Urban Adventures.

After the beautiful island of Mallorca, I continued to stick by the water and explored the canals of Venice. If you’ve ever been to Venice, you know it is an absolutely breathtaking city but it’s also full of tourists. The streets and canals are lined with visitors and it seems like there are no locals in site. Do people actually live in Venice?

Sure enough they do and the way to get the real culture of the city is to go through the back alleys and hang out in bacari – traditional bars that serve small bites with wine. Those small bites are called cicchetti. And the Cicchetti & Wine tour with Urban Adventures is one of the best things you could do in Venice. You do get to explore the canals a bit (riding a traditional traghetto), learn about the traditions in Venice, and sample food and wine from five local bars.
