100 BEST ’16: POKE at POKEWORKS

I’m counting down the 100 best dishes I tasted in 2016…

New Yorkers just could not get enough poke this year. It was hand’s down the hottest food trend in the city with laughable queues at lunch for same chopped raw fish over rice. Pokeworks might have the longest lines but when I found an off-hour sweet spot, I understood why. The fish is fresh and the abundance of sauces and textured mix-ins is generous. Not to mention the taste. Price: $10.50/$12.95
