It takes a lot for me to take notice of deviled eggs. They’re pretty ubiquitous and usually feature the same mustards or spicy flavors. The version at Fifty, an undersung gem nestled in the West Village, celebrates trout. Each perky egg cup holds a creamy smoky filling and then is topped with both trout roe and a fried piece of trout skin. It’s a great way to begin a memorable meal. Price: $3 each
