Along the Danube River sits a great capital with stunning architecture and hidden surprises. I’m not talking about Vienna or Budapest. Everybody knows about those cities. Bratislava is a somewhat undiscovered gem that has all these things and more. And because it is much smaller than the others, it feels much more manageable and quaint.
But like most cities, the tourists gather in the main part of town. I got to see so much more of Bratislava than most visitors ever do because I met up with Lukas from Urban Adventures who let me in on the Local Secrets of Bratislava. We visited a modern brewery run by punk rockers, had a picnic with incredible sites, and took a trolley to a beautiful neighborhood that I never would have discovered if it wasn’t for my local guide.
