100 BEST ’15: DELI WELLINGTON at SARGE’S DELI

I’m counting down the 100 best dishes I tasted in 2015…

Deli Wellington at SARGE'S DELI

I re-visited some Jewish delis this year for the Gothamist article I wrote. On my new journey, I discovered some other dishes outside my typical corned/beef pastrami sandwich. One in particular that I will not forget is the gutbomb known as a Deli Wellington.

Deli Wellington at SARGE'S DELI

The calorie ball is basically a thick layer of puff pastry wrapped around a giant ball of pastrami and corned beef mixed up with a potato hash. It’s mighty tasty, but incredibly dangerous. And this gigantic monster is even considered a nosh!! Price: $8.95
