I returned from my amazing trip in Hawaii and before I can even begin dealing with my jet lag and digesting all that kalua pork, the Village Voice will be hosting another one of their huge food festivals. The sixth annual Choice Eats will happen tonight at the 69th Armory on 23rd and Lexington Avenue from 6:30-9:30.
The massive event will feature 86 food vendors representing just about every kind of cuisine in New York. Everything will be represented from Yunnan Kitchen’s unique Northern Chinese cuisine and Maima’s Liberian Bistro from way out in Queens to high-end fine dining restaurants like Del Posto and Telepan to hipster Brooklyn spots like Allswell and Littleneck to a wide range of desserts like Robicelli’s cupcakes and Butter & Scotch’s boozy treats.
No doubt there will be lots of pizza, hot dogs, ice cream, and beer to taste, so expect a scientific re-cap in the coming days. Unfortunately, general admission tickets are sold out so if you haven’t purchased tickets yet, you’ll have to wait until next year and meanwhile, live vicariously through me.
