Come back every Wednesday for another funny, informative video documenting my inept food adventures. In Locals Know, I explore a new city through the tours of Urban Adventures.

Last year, I helped design a tour for Urban Adventures that has been a huge success (if I do say so myself). It involves cocktails, so how could it be bad?

I lead the tour pretty regularly but we have about three other guides that also do a great job with it. So on the latest episode of Locals Know, I experience the New York Craft Cocktail tour from a brand new perspective thanks to Josh. Watch the video below to get a sense of the tour and watch us discover hidden bars, new speakeasies, and drink a whole lots of well-crafted cocktails.

In New York, we have artsy and diverse neighborhoods like Williamsburg, Astoria, and the Lower East Side. They are incredible places. But I wish we had the colorful and food-centric enclave called Kensington Market. That one is in Toronto.

Since it’s adjacent to the city’s Chinatown, it makes sense that Toronto Urban Adventures hosts a tour of the two neighborhoods together – Kensington Market & Chinatown. It’s a great way to explore the awesome street art hidden down secret alleys, meet some of the locals who populate the bohemian area, and get a sense of which restaurants and food shops are the ones to visit.

Watch the newest episode of Locals Know to see what the tour is all about and then get more info about it by clicking here. Toronto is a very quick plane ride away and if you’ve never been or it’s been a while, you owe yourself at least a weekend away. It’s a really cool town!

I just returned from an amazing trip to Peru. And while there, I had to meet up with the local branch of the tour company I work for, Urban Adventures.

Just like here in New York, the guides at Urban Adventures in the capital of Lima get you away from the touristy areas and into a local neighborhood. On the Lima Discovery Tour, you are able to have one-of-a-kind experiences like chatting with locals, exploring the vibrant markets, and sipping an iconic pisco sour in the hotel that created it.

Get a flavor of the tour in the video below and learn more about it here. Anyone planning a trip to Peru?

Every week, I document another dish that impressed and satiated me during my food adventures around New York City

ASTRID Y GASTON, At Casa Moreyra, Avenue Paz Soldán 290, San Isidro, Lima, Peru

It’s hard for me to do what I’m about to do, but it must be done. I have never selected a dish of the week that was not consumed in New York City. It goes against my entire brand. But I recently returned from a trip to Peru and there was one dish I tasted that puts everything else I’ve tasted in New York this year to shame. And so rules are meant to be broken.

Come back every Wednesday for another funny, informative video documenting my inept food adventures.

It’s been a long time since I’ve released a full-on webisode of Eat This. For the latest episode, I decided to hit the road. Below is the first Eat This episode outside of New York.

Brian gets a call to come to Boston to audition for a new food show. Problem is he can’t get his mind off of the food in New York, despite some amazing local clam chowder.

I bring my sense of food adventure with me on the road, searching for the most authentic, iconic, and delicious dishes of a different region…

Fight to the DeathI knew I’d have my fair share of seafood in Boston, but I didn’t realize it would practically be my entire diet for a week. I like to eat the local, iconic food in a city and what else is there really to eat in Boston?

That was my dilemma when researching the possibility of filming an Eat This episode in Beantown (the episode launches tomorrow). Not to bring up a sore subject, but New York has very obvious iconic food. Boston?  Not so much. Even when I asked people from Boston what “the food” of that city is, it took some serious thinking to come up with an answer. Chowder, roast beef, Italian food, what?
