LAKRUWANA, 668 Bay Street (at Broad Street), Stapleton, Staten IslandMost people think Staten Island is only good for one thing – a free ferry that takes you by the Statue of Liberty. Casual foodies also know there’s some mighty serious pizza out on the forgotten borough. But it’s only the most hardcore and adventurous of food lovers who have been out to visit the rough neighborhood of Tompkinsville.

This (and nearby Stapleton) is where you can find Little Sri Lanka. In fact, a third of the Sri Lankan population in this country resides out here. So you better believe if there’s authentic Sri Lankan cuisine to be had, this is where you can find it.
