I’m counting down the 100 best dishes I tasted in 2017…

At cocktail bars, I usually request to try something unusual and unlike anything else I’ve tasted before. At the singular Upper East Side cocktail lounge Seamstress, I got just what I asked for and it was so incredibly interesting. This savory cocktail consisted of aged rum, Rabarbaro Sfumato (a bitter amaro with¬†Chinese rhubarb), pickled mango, egg whites and a drop or two of sesame oil. There was a peanut buttery flavor with a sweet vinegary balance from the mango. It had so much going on and I can’t imagine I’ll ever taste something like it again.¬†Price: $15
